It was a hard week that I pushed through and dropped another 1.8 lbs. The weather is warmer and there is hope to see some sun so I think this week will be a lot easier. I know I feel so much more in control now with there being far less "OMG I want to swan dive into an all you can eat buffet."
So if you are struggling and don't know how to get a grip, know this: everyone struggles, even those of us that have been at this a long time. The key is to never give up. Take each day as they come and focus on doing all you can on that day. I'm not perfect. But I am still down 145+ lbs from my highest weight. As long as you never quit and learn from your mistakes you can do this.
On the other side of this weight loss coin there is also a little matter of a 5K to be run on Saturday. I'm ready. The plan is to take it slow and steady doing run/walk intervals and a couple of 5 minute walks thrown in about 1/3 and 2/3 of the way through. This is my first official run so there is no pressure other than I don't want to finish last.
20 weeks back on plan and 52.6 lbs lost.
12 weeks on the DDDYC and 26.6 lbs lost.
Onward and Downward y'all!

Good luck with the race, Kimberly. You are so right. The only real failure on any diet plan is to give up and stop trying when you make a mistake or have a slip. Standing up and going on is the beginning of a success.
Nice work on the 1.8. And nice reminder that everybody struggles. You're right. Everybody DOES struggle, and we're not alone in our dificulties.

From what I've read, it's every time you're seriously tempted and DO NOT GIVE IN that you're creating the habit of choosing better. When you give in, you lose ground in setting up the new mindset. Consider yourself a conqueror extraordinaire, sweetie.
And is someone gonna take pics of the race? I'd love to see you cross the line!!!!!!!
Congrats on the loss!! I think you're spot on about not quitting.. I had an awful weekend, but I'm right back at it this morning. Quitting is not an option, not even at goal!

First time here. Found you thru Hippo with a Headband's inspiring sites and was she ever right! I was feeling a little whiny this morning. But let me tell you after reading this post and letting the numbers and accomplishment and your attitude sink in I am ready to face the day with all guns blazing! You ARE kicking the crap out of the weight. And now you are doing a 5K? I bet that was not o the day's "To Do" list at 370. Yet here you are actually doing what so many struggle and wish and pray and plead to do. I am going to take your words of advisement and courage as my with me. Congratulations and a giant bear hug too. Absolutely phenomenal.
