Non-Scale Victory: The Limited

As the pounds drop off it is really exciting for me when I can begin shopping in a clothing store that was previously off limits because I was just too damned fat. I recently added one back into my possibilities that I have not been able to buy clothes from since high school!

I knew I had dropped a lot of weight in my upper torso and thought I was getting close to being able to wear an XL from a regular store. So I went to The Limited and checked out what they had. The tops I liked the most looked like they would fit. I was still uncertain. So, I tried them on and they fit!

It was such an emotional high and I was brought to tears as I tried one top on and then the other.

This is what I bought:

They are cute, right?

Oh, and these jeans that I was so super, duper excited about buying? They are so loose and baggy now that they are literally about to fall right off of my body. I don't have to unbutton or unzip to take them on and off. There is absolutely no snugness to them at all. I feel like I am living in a miraculous dreamworld with my clothes these days. It is an amazing thing to have to take something out of my closet because it is too big for me to wear.

You go girl! Those are really nice tops. I am excited about not having to shop at Lane Bryant or Avenue or the plus section of department stores. What an accomplishment!

Excellent job! Those tops are so cute. That was one of the most exciting things for me as I lost my 150 pounds. Buying new clothes and getting rid of the old ones!

All I kept was an ugly plaid jumper, a big t-shirt and a maternity shirt that was so big my whole family would fit in it now!

You should feel really proud of yourself.

Yes, the idea of being able to shop in those stores like The Limited and all those other clothing stores that have nothing above a size 14 or so seems so exotic to me. It would be a thrill to be able to fit into them.

@Fitcetera, thanks for being such the cheerleader.

@purple_moonflower123, isn't it just fantastic? I know you KNOW what this is all like. Being able to get out of the fat girl store is like a dream come true.

@Diane, buying new clothes is what I reward myself with instead of food. It is amazing to be able to wear real clothes again. I love your blog. It is so well written.

@Hallie, take it one day at a time. it sounds cheesy and all AAish but I swear that it works. There was a time I NEVER thought these clothes would fit me. Now they do because I just never, ever quit.
